The
History Behind the City...
This is Cagayan de Oro (CDO) from a sky's view point. Although the city might look large it really feels small when you compare it to our USA....back there at home. These are the two bridges, The Marcos Bridge and The Carmen Bridge
Cagayan de Oro is known by many nicknames such as "Gateway to Northern Mindanao" because of its location and good transportation facilities, "Rafting Capital of the Philippines", it is a primary whitewater rafting destination in the Philippines that has a whole year round of maneuverable rafting courses and is located within the city limit, "ICT Goldmine of the Philippines" due to its number of ICT infrastructures and businesses mushrooming the city providing job opportunities for ICT personnel and "A City in Bloom, in Blossom and in BOOM!" because of the great strides it has made by way of progress, notably in the last few years. Officially, Cagayan de Oro is dubbed locally as the "City of Golden Friendship" (Dakbayan sa Bulawanong Panaghigalaay) for its warm people. The official city seal bears this phrase.[1]
CDO may be said to be the place of "Golden Friendship," which in some ways could be true, for even I myself enjoy CDO more than the other places in the Philippines, but from a logical point of view, and do to testimonies and personal experiance, anywhere you might be, in the Philippines you can find friends or you can easily get tricked into a bribe, be asked to pay more for an itme than what it is really worth or worses thing of all is when those in office, such as the government emploies, will take advantage of their position instead of properly using it as service to the people...so be aware, on guard, of the tyrants as well as being friendly and honest to all the people.
Mission Dream in Progress...
